Ethical £6m investment with social housing purchase

Andrew Hurst from our Projects team and Pardeep Khela from our Commercial Property team have advised QSH Property LLP on a simultaneous £6.1m disposal and security release transaction. The disposal involved over 50 newly built social housing units in Kirklees. The purchaser is one of the UK’s largest ethical pension schemes with assets of over £11 billion.

The transaction involved working to considerable time constraints and calling upon the firm’s commercial property, construction and projects expertise, thereby ensuring all issues were resolved quickly and to the client’s satisfaction. The firm also worked closely with Kirklees Council and Kirklees Neighbourhood housing to ensure the interests of local government stakeholders were protected.

The transaction undoubtedly signifies the continued growth of the social housing sector with an increasing number of investors looking for ethical investment opportunities.
