Schofield Sweeney has advised HSBC on its client’s purchase of Savile Park Private Day Nursery in Halifax, West Yorkshire, expanding nursery operator Shine Childcare Limited’s portfolio.
The unique freehold property is an attractive detached, four storey former care home, which has been converted and refurbished to create a stimulating day nursery environment for children aged 0-5 years. With effective operating capacity for 112 children, the management run nursery has a consistent ‘good’ rating with Ofsted, and has over the years established an excellent reputation within the local community.
The nursery was purchased by growing nursery group Shine Childcare Limited, who were finalists for the Nursery Management Today Training and Development Award last year, making an excellent addition to an already impressive portfolio of three nurseries. Tiny Tree Day Nursery in Leeds, Little Angels Day Nursery in Huddersfield and Newbank House Private Day Nursery in Oldham are all rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and have a five star rating with environmental health.
Graham Abbott of Shine Childcare Ltd said “We are very excited to have acquired Savile Park Nursery and look forward to working with the team to continue and develop the childcare provided, and build the business even further”.
The Schofield Sweeney team, led by Manjit Virdee, Partner, with assistance from Kate Fox and Abigail Falshaw, were able to complete the matter within 45 days of receiving instructions and said “We are very pleased to assist HSBC and their client on this recent acquisition and although we understand that initial negotiations were not the smoothest; once the deal was agreed we assisted quickly to bring it to a satisfactory completion. We wish Shine Childcare all the best in the future.”
Abdul Iqbal of HSBC said “a fantastic business and we look forward to supporting Shine Childcare with its future growth aspirations”
