Schofield Sweeney has advised the new Bradford Park Avenue management team on the formal transfer of the major shareholding in the club from Bob Blackburn to Gareth Roberts.
Gareth and his two colleagues Joe Mosley and Paul Wood, who have also joined the board of directors, are looking forward to strengthening the club from its roots. The three of them went to school in Bradford together and have remained close friends and business partners.
Gareth Roberts said: “Our mission is to make decisions for this club that will bring success in the sport but also put us at the heart of the Bradford community. Avenue has a strong future and that starts this season.”
The new directors want to look at ways to attract more supporters and give everyone, both the familiar faces and the new ones, a chance to play a bigger part in things. They also want to explore how the club can reach out to young people across Bradford to inspire them, develop their potential and get them involved in something that matters. Community investment is very important to Schofield Sweeney, the firm provides support to numerous organisations in the area including Bradford Live, The National Media Museum and various local sports clubs.
