Rob qualified as a solicitor in his forties having had a varied career in industry before that. He began his career as an accountant with what is now PWC. After qualifying as a chartered accountant, he held director level positions at Kunick Leisure, Caudwell Communications and Minorplanet Systems plc. As a finance director he dealt with several company disposals and acquisitions both in the UK and overseas for both private and public companies.
Rob qualified as a solicitor with Eversheds LLP in Leeds.
He was formerly the Managing Partner of Armitage Sykes Solicitors with whom we merged in January 2016.
Rob is a Partner in our Corporate team and is involved in a full range of Company Commercial work including the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, commercial contracts and company / partnership disputes. He also acts for a number of local insolvency practitioners in dealing with such matters as sales of businesses by administrators.
Rob is used by a number of clients as their "trusted counsel" and thrives on getting heavily involved in transactions. By way of example, he recently advised the shareholders of Lawton Yarns on their re-financing and subsequent merger with Spin-Group BV which created the largest spinning group in Europe with the turnover of the combined group approaching €110m.

Rob lives in Huddersfield. He is a keen sportsman and a member of Huddersfield Lawn Tennis & Squash Club.
