With over 30 years’ experience in Wills, Trusts, Probate and related Tax Planning, Ashley has acted for many high net worth clients and also been involved with their affairs as advisor, trustee, attorney, executor and Court of Protection deputy. He likes to plan client matters with them in conjunction with their other professional advisors so that long-term planning of succession of family assets and tax issues can be put in place and kept up to date.
Throughout his career, Ashley has been heavily involved with cases that have succeeded in the High Court regarding the proving of missing Wills for Probate and overturning gifts made with the effect of undue influence. Inheritance tax planning involving businesses and substantial family assets are also regularly dealt with.
Ashley is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a member of Solicitors for the Elderly, an independent, national organisation of lawyers,who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
He is a member of the Huddersfield and Dewsbury (Incorporated) Law Society Committee and also a past President and Public Relations Officer of that Committee.
