Amanda is our head of planning, acting for businesses and individuals across all sectors.
A qualified planner, as well as a solicitor, her specialisms include all aspects of planning appeals, judicial reviews, planning agreements, listed building consent, environmental assessment, planning enforcement and also highways and compulsory purchase and for all types of development including – housing, waste, transport, and commercial.
She acts for a wide range of clients, including private sector developers, energy and other infrastructure providers, residential developers, commercial developers, land and property owners and local authorities and has advised on numerous significant development and projects throughout the UK.
Amanda is chair of both the board of the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and the British Chambers of Commerce’s expert panel on planning. She is also a member of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Group.
She is an editorial board member of the Journal of Urban Regeneration and Renewal and the Regeneration Volume of CIPSA/TIS Online. Amanda is the author of the British Urban Regeneration Handbook, Planning and Environment Chapter, and has written articles and spoken at professional events for the RTPI, TCPI, and RICS.
Amanda ranks highly in The Legal 500 and was named as one of the top 20 planning solicitors in the UK by the Planning Law Survey.
Amanda has been included in the 11th edition of The Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom™ for planning law.
She has also been recognised by Business Today in the 2023’s Top 10 Influential Planning Lawyers from Yorkshire.
