We're delighted to announce that David Cowgill is one of this month's ambassadors.
Last year LandAid started a new Ambassador of the Month campaign, to further recognise the amazing work that Ambassadors are doing, asking them about their time at LandAid and highlighting something exceptional they've done.
David and co were selected in part for their amazing efforts in arranging an amazing Yorkshire Ambassador Quiz in October, raising funds for LandAid, and for their general fantastic work shouting about our mission to end youth homelessness. Most recently, we sponsored and entered a team to the quiz and came 19th out of 26. So there is a room for improvement, but all in all a great cause!
Questions were asked about the LandAid Ambassadors so far. Check out their answers below.
Why did you get involved in the LandAid Ambassador programme?
The LandAid Ambassador programme is a great way to provide a positive contribution to a great cause through the property industry. Youth homelessness is a problem in the UK that must be tackled and together, within the property industry, we have various skills and contact bases that can really help those that can benefit from the support that LandAid provides. The cause has a national reach and one of the main motivations for us all here in Yorkshire is to show that the support LandAid gives is across the UK.
What has been the most enjoyable thing you’ve done as an Ambassador?
A few of our Ambassadors have participated in the challenges and the ‘Race to the Sun’ still gets talked about as one of the most amazing and rewarding things they have done. Our first event here in Yorkshire, being the Ambassador Quiz in 2018, is also an event that sticks out for us.
Why would you say other people should become LandAid Ambassadors?
It is a great way to be a part of something which brings business and individuals together from across the property industry to drive a really worthwhile cause and achieve something which will impact on many lives for many years. It is also incredibly rewarding to be able to contribute towards ending youth homelessness. It is something a lot of us will struggle to relate to, and the time you dedicate can make an important difference to the lives of those far less fortunate than ourselves.
What’s been your proudest moment/achievement as an Ambassador?
Establishing the LandAid Yorkshire Ambassador Quiz as one of the go-to events here in Leeds which has raised funds for LandAid but also, just as importantly, has increased the profile of LandAid in the north.
