We took part in the Leeds Legal Walk last night.
Starting at the Courthouse the 10km route took in the city centre, North Dock, the canal, River Aire and Hyde Park and the University finishing at the Rose Bowl at Leeds Beckett Univesity. About 450 people took part in what is the largest legal walk outside London. The event raises money for the Yorkshire Legal Advice Trust and the Access to Justice Foundation.
The Schoeys’ team comprised Alex Aitken, Becky Beech, Catherine Rhodes, Elizabeth Foster, Laura Salvati, Lois Smith and Jim Staton. Representing the Huddersfield & Dewsbury law Society was SallyAnn Masih, her two children and two dogs, Fudge and Sonic. Sonic bravely took part whilst recovering from recent surgery!
The team has raised so far about £350 inc Gift Aid with more donations expected to come in (https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SchofieldSweeney1). The 10km was undertaken in 21c heat and was covered by the lead group of the team in about 1 hour 45 minutes with Jim Staton sliding past a Walker Morris contingent to be the event’s first finisher overall.
