Chris Schofield is taking on Endurance Challenge for Sue Ryder hospices
This Summer Chris Schofield will be braving the elements on Endurance Island to raise funds for Sue Ryder hospices – Wheatfields and Manorlands.
Chris likes to take on a challenge and over the years has raised thousands of pounds for local charities, however, a weekend on an uninhabited island is one of the more extreme activities he has embarked upon.
On the 19th August Chris Schofield, Chairman Schofield Sweeney, and a team of other fundraisers from across the country will head off to Endurance Island for three days, where they will face a race against time battling the elements as they struggle to survive. Guided by Royal Marine Commandos and survival experts they will have to source and build their own shelter and fire before darkness closes in.
“I am really looking forward to taking part in Endurance Island. I was put forward by one of my colleagues who was taking part in the Sue Ryder ‘Out of Office’ challenge earlier this year. Schofield Sweeney has raised over £10,000 for Sue Ryder so far and I am hoping to add another £1,000 to that. The staff at the Sue Ryder hospices provide a safety net to those going through an incredibly difficult time, it is important to me to help keep such important services available.” Chris Schofield, Chairman, Schofield Sweeney
Endurance Island is off the Welsh coast. The team will take part in a number of challenges including foraging, signaling for help and a treasure hunt.
