Staff from Schofield Sweeney participated in a sports game with a difference last night.
Team members came together with other local firms to battle it out in a series of charity netball matches, raising funds for the Stroke Association. The games were organised by Handelsbanken and played on the courts at Leeds University
Donning the bibs, team t-shirts and sweating it out, Ellie, Becky, Elizabeth, Richard, Kat, Lois and Craig enjoyed doing their bit for charity whilst giving it their best shot(s) at winning.
Of the event, team member Ellie said: “We had a great night supporting the Stroke Association in the netball tournament that Handelsbanken hosted. Each team played three games and there were around nine teams. We got off to a great start with a 10-1 win in our first game against Gordons LLP. Our second game was more tricky and ended with a couple of our players falling and gaining bruises. We drew 4-4 with Handelsbanken. Our last game was a great 6-3 win against KPMG. We came 2nd overall and were delighted with the result.
"Everyone played well and the team had a range of abilities; from not playing for a very long time to people who play each week with a team. All in all we did very well as a team considering we have never played together before. Some are now aching but it was all worth it for a great cause!"
