Chris Schofield joined Alan Wintersgill (Senior Partner at Naylor Wintersgill), Andy Lowther (Handelsbanken Bradford) and Adam Evans (Ilkley Cycles) when they cycled the entire length of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal from Liverpool to Leeds (127 miles) on 22nd and 23rd May to raise funds for the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford.
All safely completed the trip yesterday evening without too many mishaps along the way. Conditions for the trip were best described as variable (either too hot or too wet) and it certainly was not a trip for softies. Yesterday evening over a pint in Restaurant Bar & Grill nobody admitted to enjoying the ride although did say that they would have some tales to tell (mostly about Chris falling off his bike).
The team raised over £9,000 in funds for the Marie Cure Hospice in Bradford. The money raised will be combined with £3,000 previously raised by Alan Wintersgill (when he did a triathlon earlier in the year). The team had hoped to raise enough money to fund the running costs of the hospice for a day in the event the money raised will cover the hospice’s running costs for two days.
