Volunteering for disadvantaged children during the school holidays

Feeling both exhausted and fulfilled, a team of colleagues volunteered at the Nell Bank Outdoor Learning Centre in Ilkley, entertaining 450 students and serving coffee to their parents.

The students, hailing from various schools in West Yorkshire, participated in the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. The program, run by Nell Bank through its charity and with support from the Department for Education, is designed to offer children from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy enriching activities and healthy meals during their school holidays.

Annie Hui-Gillen, Director, commented “For the third consecutive year, we’ve had the privilege of volunteering at Nell Bank. The dedication and effort the charity invests to ensure the students have a memorable day is truly remarkable. We’re always eager to support this wonderful cause in any way possible.”

Volunteer days are encouraged by the firm with each employee given one day each year to choose their own activity for the benefit our local communities.
