Her specialism is in corporate insolvency with a focus on administration and company voluntary arrangements. Jo can and has advised on a range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
One of her specialisms is administration, including managing pre-pack sales to achieve completion within tight deadlines. She also has considerable experience of contentious insolvency supporting Insolvency Practitioners in the recovery of assets and pursuit of claims for antecedent transactions.
Work highlights:
Working with administrators of a print and communications company, which operated from 3 sites. The company was sold immediately upon going into administration as a going concern for consideration of £15million. The sale preserved the jobs of 60 staff members.
Supporting Joint Liquidators of a company in recovering £600,000 from the former directors in an action for misfeasance.
Working with Joint Liquidators of a substantial property development company with assets totalling £10 million in value, undertaking various property transfers and providing advice concerning overage agreements, novation agreements, disclaimers and complex issues in connection with FCA authorisation.
Assisting Joint Administrators of a bespoke concrete casting company with an application for an urgent administration order, following the death of the sole director. The company traded for a short period following the making of the administration order, which was then followed by a sale to an unconnected party as a going concern.
